11月某日、都内スタジオで、12月10日にKONAMIから発売される任天堂Wii用ソフト「ウイニングイレブン プレーメーカー2010」のCM撮影が行われた。CMは、サッカー解説者の松木安太郎氏と武田修宏氏がWii版「ウイイレ」で対決するという内容。練習試合を含め、合計8回の対決が行われた。このCMは11月29日から放送される。

ピンチになるとファウルで止める武田氏に対し、松木氏は「全部ファウルだよ!」と声を上げる。それに対して武田氏は「現役の時は松木さんもファウルしてたじゃない」と反論。武田氏がファインゴールを決めてVTR再生を流せば、松木氏がそれを中断し「あんまり喜ぶとイエローカードになるよ」とチクリ。CM撮影は終始、和やかな雰囲気で行われたが、勝負が“ガチ”であったことは間違いない。

「Wiiリモコン＋ヌンチャク」の操作で行われたエル・クラシコでは、松木氏がR・マドリードを、武田氏がバルセロナを、それぞれ操作。結果は“ヌンチャク世代”を自認する松木氏が2勝1分で勝利を飾った。「クラシックコントローラ」の操作で行われた因縁の対決、リバプール vs. ユベントスでは、ユーベを操作する武田氏が松木氏を圧倒。3連勝で雪辱を果たした。

松木氏が「オフサイド！」と叫べば、武田氏は「いまのはオフサイドじゃないでしょ！」と抗議。2人の発言は、現役時代のポジションを反映しているようだった。

「バモ！バモ！」や「オレ！オレ！」とTV解説で日本代表を応援するときのように声を上げる松木氏。しかし、試合が進むにつれて無口に。CM撮影ではあったが、2人の勝負は真剣そのものだった。

2人の対決を見ていて気付いたのが、「Wiiリモコン＋ヌンチャク」と「クラシックコントローラ」では、志向するサッカーが明らかに異なるということだ。ヌンチャクで操作しているときは、お互いにフィールドを大きく使ったパスサッカーを展開。しかしコントローラ操作となると一転、ドリブルでの突破が目立つようになった。

パスとドリブル。どちらが優れているとは一概に言えないが、目指すサッカーによってコントローラを変えるという選択肢は“あり”のように思えた。
